The Lake Havasu Area Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting ceremony for The Salvation Army, celebrating the opening of its new location. Attending the ribbon cutting from left to right were front row; Monica Hall, Major Larry J. Feist, Captain Julie E. Feist, and Denise Johnk, back row; Michelle Gorenflo, Iris Wisowaty, Liz White, and Norma Bates. The Salvation Army is open Monday through Saturday 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Chuck and Shannon Baker have been in the cleaning and restoration business since 1992 and part of the Service Team of Professionals Franchise team since 2003. In that time they have been awarded four National Franchise Awards for Customer Service, Sales and Financial Management. The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Ambassadors along with the Havasu Foundation for Higher Education held a ribbon cutting ceremony celebrating the ASU Donor Wall Dedication. There are over 300 listings on the wall and for each person represented there, many more bought, ASU shirts, put up posters, and hosted ASU Fridays in their business. With special thanks to the generous one million dollar gift from Jim and Shirley Santiago that put ASU on the fast track for the August 2012 opening, the Donor Wall truly emphasizes the power and dedication of our community.

The self serve shop will cater to do it yourselfers and auto enthusiasts. Customers will be able to rent their dream shop by the hour; it will include a lift and tools. Painless Performance Conversations Simplified at Chamber of Commerce Workshop

Most everyone encounters unpleasant moments in the workplace. Whether it is a conversation with the boss, or if you’re the boss and you need to deal with an employee issue, the conversation can be difficult. The Lake Havasu Area Chamber of Commerce March special Workshop, “Painless Performance Conversations – A Practical Approach to Critical Day to Day Workplace Discussions” will help area businesses learn to finesse those situations and get back to business.

The workshop will be held in the Sunset Room at the London Bridge Resort on Thursday, March 7 beginning with continental breakfast at 8:30 a.m. The program concludes at 4 p.m. and includes lunch.

Program facilitator is Marnie E. Green. Green is the nation’s go-to expert in the development of leaders. An author, Green has penned two books on dealing with difficult workplace conversations. She has trained public and private sector organizations over the past 25 years including the cities of Las Vegas, San Jose and Honolulu, special districts in the Phoenix area and the Bureau of Land Management; also corporate clients like Charles Schwab, Nationwide Insurance and the World Health Organization in Geneva. She holds a bachelor and master’s degree from Arizona State University and is also a graduate of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government’s Art and Practice of Leadership Develop0ment residency program.

The workshop is part of a six-session series of the Chamber’s Advanced Havasu Leadership Development Program with this session being offered also to Chamber members and the general public. Tuition for the day is $99 for Chamber members; $129 General Admission; and $59 for Havasu Leadership Development graduates.

Green’s two books will also be available for purchase at the event.
